2/21/2023 0 Comments Apple shareplay wwdcIn some circumstances, a device may display content within an operating environment. Accordingly, occlusions (e.g., obstructions) between physical objects and ER objects are negated, enabling a richer set of functionalities with respect to the home ER environment. For example, in some implementations, the method includes moving the subset of ER objects relative to physical objects within the home ER environment. In some implementations, the method includes moving the subset of ER objects in response to detecting a second input. Displaying a virtual object at a predetermined location within the current operating environment is problematic because the virtual object and a physical (e.g., real-world) object that is also within the current operating environment may obstruct (e.g., occlude) each other, degrading the functionality provided by the current operating environment.īy contrast, various implementations include systems, methods, and electronic devices that, in response to detecting a first input directed to a first diorama-view representation of a first ER environment, transforming a subset of ER objects included in the first diorama-view representation into the home ER environment as a function of home ER world coordinates and first ER world coordinates. Modifying the current operating environment may include displaying different (e.g., new) virtual objects at respective predetermined locations within the current operating environment, independent of user input. In some applications, the device modifies display of a current operating environment. In some circumstances, a device may display one or more objects within an operating environment. The device also lacks a mechanism for displaying virtual objects such that the virtual objects and physical objects from occluding each other within the operating environment.Īpple's invention introduces us to a new method that includes displaying, via a display device, what they brand as a "home enhanced reality (ER) environment" characterized by home ER world coordinates, including a first diorama-view representation of a first ER environment. However, the device lacks a mechanism for enabling three-dimensional (3D) manipulation of the displayed content within the operating environment. In virtual reality (VR) applications, the operating environment corresponds to a virtual environment including purely virtual objects. In augmented reality (AR) applications, the operating environment corresponds to a physical (e.g., real-world) environment including physical objects, and the previously available device displays virtual objects overlaid on a graphical representation of the physical environment. In Apple's patent background they note that a previously available device may display content within an operating environment. Apple introduces us to the "home enhanced reality (ER) environment" that uses a plurality of diorama views. Today's patent application dives deep into a future generation of SharePlay for AR that could also be used with their future Mixed Reality headset. In fact, SharePlay is likely the first step towards an AR version that's in-the-works. This is what today's patent is about technically speaking. This was introduced at WWDC-21 and below is that particular segment of the keynote. However, the one theme of the patent that all Apple fans could appreciate is the new SharePlay feature allowing friends to watch movies together on their devices or TV and more. This is a highly technical patent that engineers and developers working in the field of augmented reality will better appreciate. Today the US Patent & Trademark Office published a patent application from Apple that relates to augmented reality and a method for displaying content, and, in particular, displaying respective representations of environments.

In C shooting you can also use your camera's bulb feature the shutter stays open for as long as you press the transmission button. With the ML-3 your options include single shot (denoted S) and continuous (C) shooting. Remember to keep the transmitter in line with the receiver (the receiver will swivel on its mount, which helps) and to keep the receiver's reception sensor away from the sun. Firstly, mount the receiver on the camera's accessory shoe, then insert the end of the cable into the camera's 10-pin terminal (if you're using a Speedlight on the camera, attach the receiver with the supplied bracket instead). The ML-3 is designed for cameras with a 10-pin terminal – these are mainly higher-end DSLRs, including the D810. Remember that because the ML-元 uses an infrared beam to make it fire, you need to keep it in line of sight of the camera. Select the remote control mode in the shooting menu, then choose an option, including quick-response remote (where the shutter is released immediately the ML-元 button is pressed), and delayed response (where the shutter fires 2 seconds after pressing the ML-元 button). It's ideal for group shots where you want to be in the picture, or for long exposures where you want to avoid the risk of shake from pressing the shutter button.Ĭan my Nikon 1 or COOLPIX go wireless, too? Yes, it's old-school and low-fi, rather than wi-fi it can be handy because it's built into your Nikon camera, so you're never without it. Alternatively, to send images from the camera to a computer or FTP server, you can use the Nikon WT-4, WT-5, WT-6 or WT-7 wireless transmitters, depending on camera compatibility – the new D5, for example, uses the WT-5 and WT-6 models, while the D500 uses the WT-7. Your Nikon camera may come with wi-fi built-in, or you could create wi-fi via Nikon's WU-1a or WU-1b Wireless Mobile Adapter and your smartphone or tablet. Their ranges are also much greater than infrared options – around 20m for the WR-T10 to the WR-R10, 50m for a transmitting WR-R10 to a transceiving WR-R10, and a whopping 120m for WR-1 to WR-1. Because these systems use radio frequencies instead of infrared, you aren't limited to line-of-sight operation. Alternatively, you could use multiple WR-1 remote controllers, which are both transmitter and transceiver in one. The Wireless Remote Controller kit includes the WR-R10 transceiver (controller) which is attached to the DSLR and receives signals from the WR-T10 transmitter. Via radio signal with the Nikon Wireless Remote Controller Set and WR-1 remote controller. The range on the ML-元 is around 5m from remote to camera, while the ML-3's range is roughly 8m. If you're shooting a subject in direct line of sight, you can use either the ML-元 or ML-3 remotes (depending on your camera), which use a beam of infrared light to trigger the camera. The dial of the Avalon overall isn’t over-designed, a trap that I think many microbrands can fall into, and this restrained design approach also flows through Nodus’ other models as well.Īt this price point, bezels can be pretty hit or miss, especially with microbrands. The hands are legible and filled with a hearty amount of lume as well, and I particularly like the pop of color added to the seconds hand. Definitely a welcomed breath of fresh air from my collection of black dialed divers, and makes the Avalon feel fun & light hearted. The overall design here is clean & basic, with a minimal amount of dial text, only having the Nodus logo in the upper hemisphere, and “Avalon 300m” in the lower hemisphere.īoth the blue and green versions I got to check out look great in person, and I’m glad to see Nodus embracing interesting color variants like these. Every hour marker is designated with an applied indice, filled with a hearty amount of Super-LumiNova C3 (green) lume. The dial of the Avalon continues the trend for high quality as set by the case design. And of course, being a diver, we’d expect some water resistance here, and the Avalon is rated to 300 meters. Why Excalibur? Because Avalon (according to the tale) is the island where Excalibur was forged. Rounding out the case design, the Avalon has a steel caseback, the usual caseback specifications, and an engraving of Excalibur. One other detail I really appreciate here is the crown placement at the 4 o’clock position, this is such a comfortable place to put the crown and I wish more brands would do this. This swooping design gives the profile that the watch is really hugging your wrist, and is another way that Nodus stands out from the competition with a more complex case design made possible by its CNC production method. One of my favorite aspects of this case design, is the downward slope design of the side of the case. The majority of the case is done up in a nice tool watch styled brushed finish, with some polished accents along the side of the case to add some nice flair. While the larger diameter might seem like a non-starter for some, the short lug to lug length, and design of the bezel, makes this watch wear much smaller than its dimensions might suggest. Measuring in at a diameter of 43.2mm, a lug to lug of 48mm, and a thickness of 12.9mm, the Avalon wears quite comfortably on my 6.5” wrist. With that being said, the Avalon is in no way a homage to either. I have often seen the Avalon compared to a Seiko Turtle, due to its cushion/tonneau shaped case, however I would more likely draw the comparison to a Doxa Sub case. Let’s dive into the Avalon and what makes it tick.Īs I mentioned in the intro, one of the immediate standout components of the Avalon is its case, both in design and in quality. Uniquely designed and finely machined cases, color matched matte ceramic bezel inserts, a comfortable bracelet, hell, the Avalon even has freaking Excalibur on the caseback (cliche divers helmets or fish be damned). The Avalon on the surface seems like just another microbrand diver, in the under $750 range, however it’s once you see it in person that the fanfare starts to make sense. Wes & Cullen, the co-founders of Nodus, assemble all their watches in LA, regulate the watches to four positions, and have been pushing the brand further with each release. As with many microbrands, the team behind Nodus is extremely passionate, and it shines through in the quality of their watches. Nodus is based out of Los Angeles, and was founded in May of 2017. The sheer volume of people in love with this brand’s watches intrigued me, and after a couple months with one of their latest releases, the Avalon, I understand why Nodus quickly built up a cult following. However, it seemed that seemingly out of the blue, everyone I follow on Instagram had ended up with a Nodus watch, and couldn’t stop singing the praises of it. Brands such as Halios, Oak & Oscar, Monta, and Unimatic come to mind as brands who have staked a claim as a fixture within the microbrand universe for one reason or another. While it can be difficult to keep up with the constantly growing pool of microbrands popping up left and right, usually only a few float up to the top due to their standout quality, marketing, or unique designs. 2/20/2023 0 Comments Split pupilThe vision in the air over the map showed a pair of yellow, slit-pupiled eyes sticking out of murky water. No native libraries to compile or external dependencies needed. It was a good choice for a serverless application for the following reasons: There are numerous Node.js libraries for generating PDFs including PDFKit, pdf-lib and HummusJS. Here’s how I did it… Creating custom PDF documents in Node.js I hadn’t previously built anything that generated PDFs dynamically (let alone using serverless) but discovered how easy this was to do on AWS Lambda using PDFKit and HTTP APIs with API Gateway. API responses had to include the document’s binary contents directly, rather than forwarding to an external storage service. PDFs would be accessed via a HTML link from an internal web-app. Custom PDFs needed to be created in real-time with dynamic content from an internal data source. Even the Tiger wasn’t huge, at only 70 inches! So what makes the size of the ring important? It is one of several factors that determine the maximum size gun you can mount on the tank. Nazi Germans are not very good in this area, PIII having a 60-inch ring, PIV having only 63 inches, and the Panther only having a 65-inch ring. The Shermans were 69 inches, positively huge for when it was designed, the early T-34 had a 56-inch ring, and the later version with an 85mm gun had a 63-inch turret ring. One of the things that really set the Sherman apart from its peers, and gave it very good longevity, was the size of the turret ring. The Jumbo had an up-armored version of the T23 turret. Transforming healthcare and millions of lives as a result starts with the values you embrace and the passion you bring to achieve With the ability to import Photoshop files directly into After Effects, this process is simple and quick. After Effects is great complex animation, so you can design your graphic in Photoshop and then move it to After Effects and animate it. For example, you can design a graphic in Photoshop using its tools and then move that graphic into programs like Adobe After Effects to work on more complicated animation tasks. Photoshop is more geared toward simple animation, but it is possible to integrate your work with other Adobe Programs. Animated GIFs are extremely popular in email marketing, and Photoshop is an excellent tool to create these simple GIFs. These animations are used for emails, social media, and email marketing. You can even animate and create simple animated GIFS with Photoshop. You can even create patterns with the pattern maker for web page graphics, fashion designers, and numerous other tasks. Overall, Photoshop is extremely versatile and can assist with a wide variety of graphic design projects. Adobe Illustrator would be a better program for creating logos or drawings. For example, if you’re working on a multi-page document, Adobe InDesign may be a better choice. In some instances, Photoshop may not be the most appropriate program. Essentially, Photoshop is a great tool for when you’re working with text and graphics. There is also a capability to do print design right in the program. This means determining what the app will look like or what a website will look like. This means you can create graphics for websites, social media, email marketing, or design an app right within the program. Many Designers use Photoshop in their careers because it’s a pixel-based graphic editing tool and pixel-based design. Now that we’ve discussed the photo editing side of Photoshop, we can move on to the design side of the program. From simple effects to more complex editing, you can create an entirely new world right within your photo. You can blur backgrounds, create illustrations, and truly do so many different tasks. Photoshop makes it easy to take their three different faces, put them together, and composite them into a single image.Īll sorts of creative effects can be done within the program. While there's a good face in each photo, you don't have one photo where everybody is smiling or has their eyes open. For example, let's say you have three different photos, each with multiple people in the photo. You can even put photos together and composite multiple photos into a single new photo. Whether you want to adjust the cool or warm tones or even create a unique appearance, Photoshop allows you to retouch and remove any elements you don’t want in your image. You are able to crop images, change colors, and remove color casts to create a certain mood within a photo. What Can Photoshop Do? Photoshop for Photo EditingĪs the name suggests, Photoshop is mainly used for photo editing. While this course will not be able to cover all of the things Photoshop can do, many students are surprised to learn of its incredible capabilities. So, what can Photoshop do? Let's go through some of these things to see the program in action. We're based in New York City, and we've taught courses in Photoshop for the past 30 years. You can continue to develop your skillset here at Noble Desktop. Finally, we’ll discuss ways to continue learning after completing this course to build on those new essential skills. We'll go over Photoshop basics and cover some of the fundamental concepts needed to use the program. The introduction to Photoshop will also provide a tutorial showing you how to start using Photoshop. You will need a Creative Cloud plan to access Photoshop. It will also help you determine which Adobe Creative Cloud plan you should purchase. So you are aware of how flexible Photoshop is, it's important to note that the program is not just for photo editing. Most people fail to realize all the various tasks that Photoshop can perform. The tutorial will start with discussing what Photoshop can actually do. First, let’s talk about what this introduction to Photoshop will cover. This tutorial will discuss Adobe Photoshop and get you started in the program. I teach several of the Adobe programs and some of the other classes that we offer.
